Introspection is a heroic act, which requires courage, light and silence. A triptych that will come to build a dialogue between our fears, our truths and everything that remains in between, with no other simpler name than art.

The artist Carlota Pérez de Castro has created a unique work which can be savoured ephemerally for one month in our gallery. It represents a special work for its intensity and delicacy. A work with an unlimited use code, so that introspection is something more than a heroic journey… it becomes an artistic routine.

The artist will present her work with a performance on March 4, an artistic intervention on her own art: the best way to present her exhibition, live and with all the ingredients to explain her creative process.

In her performance at The Eleven House, the artist will combine painting, body and audiovisuals. It will be an opportunity for you to get to know the creator and her work Introspection, which will be on display for a month, first hand.

WHO IS EXHIBITING?

CARLOTA PÉREZ DE CASTRO

Carlota Pérez De Castro is a visual artist who combines painting, performance and even fashion in her work.

She was born in 1998 into a family of artists, and naturally she herself was a natural born artist.

She studied Interior Design (IADE), Fashion Design (IADE) and completed a master’s degree in Contemporary Art at a practical level in all disciplines in the realm of fine arts (SUR).

Since her first exhibition at the Palacio de Cibeles, the artist has continued to share her work, exhibiting in Australia, Almería, Barcelona, and numerous times in Madrid, her hometown.

Her art demonstrates the use of texture and depth, which she employs to portray different models of her performances in a very contemporary way.

These performances are always staged through body painting.

She also came up with the “Wandering Exhibition” initiative during the pandemic, under the slogan, “The beauty of art appears when it is shared.”

The multidisciplinary artist is based in Madrid, where she has her studio and creates on a daily basis.
